AMSHA Foundation marks a significant milestone in 2026—ten years of dedicated service to empowering Christian students in Kenya through education. This journey began with a heartfelt mission inspired by faith, family, and a deep commitment to education. As we celebrate this decade of impact, it is important to reflect on the foundation’s origins, vision, mission, and the inspiring stories that have shaped its path.

The Beginning of AMSHA Foundation

AMSHA Foundation’s story starts in 2005, following the passing of Mary’s mother, Mrs. Josephine Wambui Kimori. Her legacy of faith and passion for education, especially for girls, laid the groundwork for what would become a beacon of hope for many students. Initially named the “Josephine Wambui Kimori Scholarship Fund,” the organization was created to honor her commitment to Christ and her belief in the power of education.

In 2016, AMSHA Foundation was officially incorporated as a Domestic Nonprofit Corporation in Indiana, gaining 501(c)(3) status. This legal step allowed AMSHA to collect public donations and expand its reach. Since then, the foundation has focused on supporting financially challenged Christian students pursuing post-secondary and university education, primarily from Kenya.

Vision That Guides Every Step

AMSHA Foundation envisions a future where Christian leaders emerge equipped with education and faith to serve Africa. The foundation believes that education is a powerful tool to develop leaders who will contribute positively to their communities and beyond. By focusing on Kenyan students, AMSHA ensures that its resources directly impact those who share its cultural and spiritual values.

Mission Focused on Real Impact

The mission of AMSHA Foundation is clear and focused: to provide financial support to Christian students facing economic challenges, enabling them to access higher education. This mission is not just about funding tuition; it is about opening doors to opportunities that transform lives and communities. Over the past decade, AMSHA has helped numerous students overcome financial barriers and pursue their dreams.

Inspiration Drawn from Faith

The foundation’s inspiration comes from the biblical story of the feeding of the five thousand (Mark 6:41-44). Just as Jesus multiplied the boy’s small lunch to feed thousands, AMSHA has witnessed how small contributions multiply to meet the needs of many students. This story reflects the foundation’s belief in a loving, faithful, and powerful God who provides abundantly.

Mrs. Josephine Wambui Kimori’s life exemplified this faith. Born in 1918, she lived through Kenya’s War of Independence and demonstrated remarkable courage and prayerful trust. Her faith saved six lives when their grass-thatched home was set on fire during the conflict. This legacy of faith and resilience continues to inspire AMSHA’s work today.

Stories of Transformation

Over the years, AMSHA Foundation has supported many students who have gone on to become leaders in their fields. For example, one scholarship recipient graduated with a degree in education and now teaches in a rural Kenyan school, inspiring the next generation. Another student pursued nursing and is serving in underserved communities, providing critical healthcare.

These stories highlight the foundation’s impact beyond financial aid. AMSHA builds a community of faith-driven leaders who give back to society, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

How Donors and Supporters Make a Difference

AMSHA’s success depends on the generosity of donors and supporters who share its vision. Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in sustaining scholarships and expanding opportunities. The foundation maintains transparency and accountability, ensuring that funds directly support students’ education.

Supporters also engage through prayer, advocacy, and spreading awareness about AMSHA’s mission. This collective effort strengthens the foundation’s ability to serve more students each year.

Looking Ahead: The Next Ten Years

As AMSHA Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary, it looks forward to continuing its mission with renewed energy. Plans include expanding scholarship programs, increasing partnerships with educational institutions, and enhancing mentorship opportunities for students.

The foundation remains committed to its core values of faith, education, and service. By nurturing future leaders, AMSHA aims to contribute to a brighter future for Kenya and Africa as a whole.

AMSHA Foundation’s journey over the past decade shows how faith and education can transform lives. The foundation’s story is one of hope, resilience, and community support. As we celebrate this milestone, we invite donors and supporters to join in the next chapter of empowering Christian students to lead and serve.
