My name is Alex Mugi Mugo, a committed Christian and a member of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK). Faith has always been the compass guiding my life, shaping how I view service, leadership, and compassion for others.
Growing up, I attended Christian-based schools where the teachings of Jesus Christ instilled in me values such as faith, hope, charity, justice, prudence, temperance, and perseverance. These virtues formed the foundation of my character and inspired my desire to serve humanity through my future profession.
From a young age, my dream was to join the University of Nairobi and pursue a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. I have always believed that health is dignity. A healthy smile restores confidence, opens opportunities, and improves quality of life. In many communities across our country, oral health is often neglected due to limited access to care and awareness. My dream is to help change that reality.
However, after receiving my admission, my joy was overshadowed by a difficult reality—I could not afford the university fees. For a moment, it felt as though the dream I had worked so hard for was slipping away.
Just when hope was fading, I heard about the Amsha Foundation from a friend. Learning about their mission to support students like me felt like an answer to prayer. Through their generosity and the kindness of their donors, I have been given a second chance to pursue my education and my purpose.
As I pursue my Bachelor of Dental Surgery, I am committed not only to academic excellence but also to positively impacting my fellow students by encouraging integrity, compassion, and service to others.
My long-term vision is to serve communities where access to dental care is limited. I hope to organize outreach programs in schools and rural areas to educate young people about oral hygiene and provide care to those who cannot afford it. I believe that something as simple as a healthy smile can restore dignity, confidence, and hope.
Beyond healthcare, my Christian faith calls me to mentor and inspire younger students, showing them that perseverance, faith, and hard work can overcome even the most difficult circumstances.
I am deeply grateful to Amsha Foundation and the generous donors who believe in students like me. Your support is not just funding my education—it is helping shape a life dedicated to service and creating a ripple of positive change in communities.
With faith, dedication, and your support, I hope to bring healing, hope, and smiles to many people in our society.
Thank you for believing in my journey.
